1.0 Introduction

Ground Traffic ControlTM is a web based graphical user interface to the inspection management system. All important operations, from viewing reports, to managing the system are handled through this interface. Due to its web based nature the system may be accessed from any standard web browser. Ground Traffic Control™ also incorporates a number of security measures in order to safeguard access to the system and the information contained within.

1.1 Access Control

A permissions system is associated with each and every user. What this means is that individual user accounts may be setup with access to specific areas of the Ground Traffic Control™ system. It is possible to create users with access to only a single section of Ground Traffic Control™ or the entire system. This system gives extremely fine grained control over the capabilities of each user. Initial access is controlled by logging in with a username and password.
Note: If the current user does not have permission to perform an action, the navigation bar section for that action will not be displayed.

1.2 Layout and Navigation

All sections in the Ground Traffic Control™ system have a similar layout. At the header of each page is a navigation bar. To browse the navigation bar simply hold your mouse over the desired section and a menu will be displayed. This bar allows navigation to the main sections of Ground Traffic Control™, and expands to each subsection when the mouse pointer is placed over the desired main section.
Note: The navigation menu requires a JavaScript capable browser. Click here for additional system requirements. If you are experiencing difficulties with the navigation bar please contact your IT Department or Zonar Systems Customer Support for assistance.

Operations pertaining to an individual section will be located in a sub-menu of the main navigation. Below is an example of the Admin section specific sub-menu.

Some category menus have their own sub-menus, located within the section specific menu. Below is an example of a sub-menu for 'Admin Drivers' (part of the Admin section menu).

1.3 Software Updates

Periodically, Zonar Systems will update and improve the Ground Traffic Control™ system to add functionality and correct deficiencies in the system. Users should familiarize themselves with any new features when an update occurs.

Important: New features will be managed through the access control mechanism. If users do not have permissions to access these functions, they will not be visible to them. After an update, administrators should review user permissions to determine if new permissions should be granted to any users.
