The GPS section allows the user to view reports based on collected GPS data. To access a report or management utility simply select the desired report from the menu. Many of the reports are based on zones. See the section on Zones for more information. This section allows the user to view and change GPS related data.
Use the activity report to see how much distance each of your vehicles has traveled per day. Results are summarized by day. A typical use of this report is to see which vehicles have been used during "off hour" times. The results link to the path report so that you can see where each vehicle traveled.
You can click on the Distance Traveled link to view a Path Report for the vehicle during that timeframe.
You can click on the Max Speed link to view a Speed Report for the vehicle during that timeframe.
You can click on the Max Idle link to view an Idle Report for the vehicle during that timeframe.
Use the audit report to audit the GPS collected data of your vehicles.
You can click on a Travel time to view a Path Report for the vehicle during that timeframe.
Use the Mileage Report to view mileage information based on collected GPS data. Please Note: Mileage by State Report is the preferred report due to the speed which the Mileage By State runs at. Please use Mileage by State whenever possible.
Use the form to select one or all of the assets, zones and date range in which the Mileage Report will display.

This report can be used to show mileage traveled within a state or for all states by an asset or all assets. This is a great report to use for IFTA. This report is the preferred mileage report to use for long periods of time; because the data is summarized after a 24 hour time period.
Use the Path Report to track where up to 5 of your vehicles have gone during a given period of time. Each vehicle path will be color coded so that you may follow its path more clearly. You may also choose to export a path to a KML file which can be loaded in the Google Earth application.

Report Type 1 can be used to view detailed information on up to 5 assets as they travel through all or select zones during a given period of time.
Time
The timestamp of when the asset went in or out of the zone
IN/OUT
States whether the asset was going IN (entering) or OUT (leaving) of the zone
Zone
The zone that the asset was entering or leaving.
Duration
The time lapsed from the previous IN/OUT entry. This can be used to determine how long it took a vehicle to get from one zone to another, or how long a vehicle stayed within the boundaries of a zone.

Use this section to view and manage your zones and zone categories.
Many of the reports are based on zones. A zone is a user defined location that is given a name. Zones are often referred to as "locations of interest" (LOIs) or "geofences".

Zone categories are used to group similar zones together. It helps organize zones into sections on the drop down menus in the reports or viewing the zones on a map.
Please note System Categories cannot be deleted or edited. These categories are made by zonar for zones that function permanently within specific reports.
Category Name: Is the Zone Category Name, that will be displayed in the GTC reports zone's drop down menu.
Is Category Visible: if you select yes, the zones will be displayed on the reports' maps and in the reports' results. If you select no, the zones will not be displayed on the reports' maps or in the reports' results.
Location: If you select a location for the Zone Category, those zones in the category and the category will respect the location filters. If the Category is listed under All Locations, it will not be associated with any specific Location Filter.
Color: The zones that are listed under the category will be displayed as the color selected on the reports' maps. Click on the color palette, and select a color to represent the zone.
Browse for a CSV file with the 'Browse' button. Then click 'Import' to begin the process. It could take several seconds to upload and validate the CSV file. Please do not interrupt the process once it has begun. In order to successfully validate, the CSV file must follow specific formatting as described below.
Each line of the file is considered one zone object, and each object has 4 values separated by commas. If a value such as the zone name contains a comma within it, then the whole value should be placed within quotes (e.g. "Houston, Texas"). It is good practice to place every value within quotes to ensure valid syntax.
The 4 values for a zone object must be in the following order:
Zone name is the name your zone will be labeled with when imported.
There are 3 choices of formats for the second value: zone address or zone geometry or LAT LONG values. You must enter one of these formats, as described below:
Zone address allows you to enter an address that will be geocoded into a geometry when it is imported. This format must begin with the text "address:" which is followed by the actual address. An address must be a specific zone with a street address, and not a general location such as a city. Valid formats for the address are "address: [street address], [city/county], [state abbreviation]" and "address: [street address], [state abbreviation]". You will notice that both the street address and state abbreviations are required (separated by a comma) and the city/county is optional. Because the address contains at least one comma, the whole value must be enclosed in quotes.
Here are a few examples of valid address values:
Note: the state abbreviation must be a value from one of the following tables. Any other value will result in an error.
State Abbreviations

Province Abbreviations
|
The address you enter will be geocoded to the closest point (if multiple matches are found, it will use the first match only). This point will be converted to a circle geometry with a default radius of 50 feet. You can select a different radius value by entering it as the 4th value for your zone in the CSV file (e.g. "100" or "1500").
Zone geometry is the second option for the zone value format. This format must meet the EWKT (Extended Well Known Text) format specifications found here. EWKT format allows you to import specific geometries such as polygons and lines. When you export zones, they will be exported using this format. Some examples of valid EWKT geometry values are:
LAT LONG values are the 3rd option for the zone value. This format must begin with either the text "LAT:" or "LONG:". Both LAT and LONG values must be present, and they should be seperated with a space. A zone entered in this format will be converted into a circle geometry with a default radius of 50 feet. You can select a different radius value by entering it as the 4th value for your zone in the CSV file (e.g. "100" or "1500"). Some examples of valid LAT LONG values are:
The zone category name is the 3rd value for your zone object, and it is optional. If the name you enter matches a zone category already present in the system, it will be assigned to your zone. If it does not match a category name or if it is left blank, your zone will be imported with no category assigned to it.
Given all this information, here are a few valid CSV entries for importing zones:
Select the zone or zones you wish to export in the import/export form and click 'Export'. You will be prompted
to save the file to your computer. Choose a location to save it, and begin your download. The zones will be exported
in the CSV format described in detail above. Zones will be exported as geometries in EWKT format.
This section describes the extensive map features found in the various GPS reports.
