From this report, you can calculate elapsed and total engine hours by asset as well as enter the current hours from the Hobb’s meter in order to set the hours value. Note: GPS units must be running 1.2.94 firmware or higher
Tips for Collecting Physical Meter Readings
Here is a quick workflow to improve your collection and entry of Hobbs Meter values:
There are two methods for entering in the Hobbs Meter Values
Method A This is the preferred method for entering Hobbs Meter Values. This method applies to new installs of equipment running 1.2.94 GPS firmware or greater or units that have been upgraded to 1.2.94 or greater. A reading of the physical Hobbs meter will be required for each asset. Once these values are collected, they can be entered into Ground Traffic Control directly without any manual calculation.
link. This will display the Admin Hobbs Meter form.Physical Meter Data Entry
Once the form is displayed, to update the Hobbs Meter Value, simply:
Method B This is the non-preferred method for entering Hobbs Meter Values. This method applies to units that have been upgraded to 1.2.94 GPS firmware or greater, but previously collected hour data using older firmware. A reading of the physical meter will be is optional. If these values are collected, they can be entered into GTC directly instructions under “Method A” in this document. If the physical meter values are unavailable, an offset based on the old method of engine hour collection can be calculated.
link. This will display the Admin Hobbs Meter form.Existing Engine Hour Data Entry
Once the form is displayed, to update the Hobbs Meter Value, simply:
To run the Revised Engine Hours Report select an asset or all assets, the date and time range, then press Apply. GTC will do the calculation using the formula: Current Hobbs Meter - Engine hours currently accrued = Engine Hour Offset.
The Odometer Report tracks the asset's odometer readings, and to input offset values to match the GPS miles to the vehicle's odometer.
The Odometer Offsets Admin will display existing offsets and allow the user to add, delete or edit offsets. Once the vehicle's odometer is imputed into the Odometer Offset Admin, the GPS or V2J will start adding the traveled miles to the offset value. The value listed within the Odometer report will reflect what the assets' actual odometer is.
Select an asset or all assets and press "Apply" to view the asset(s) odometer value. Please note the date and time column is the last time the GPS or V2J updated the mileage, i.e. last power off event.
Repair Time Report allows users to track the repair times for defects, and gives average repair times for defects with the same component and zone.
