1.0 Introduction

ZTIP is a data collection and reporting system for driver hours. ZTIP handles the configuration and communication with the ZDR and interfaces to the ZonarTime web module. ZTIP must be installed to each computer workstation that has a ZDR connected to it. Drivers will be able to use any ZDR location to clock in or clock out. Once the Zonar Driver ID card is read,  ZTIP uploads the information to Zonar-Web into a customer-specific database.

1.1 Software Installation

Perform the following steps.

When the download is complete, navigate to the system directory where the files were saved. Double click on the .msi file name and the installation process will begin.

1.2 Zonar Data Reader (ZDR) Description / Connections

The ZDR is a custom-designed card reader capable of reading Zonar Driver ID cards at a distance of up to 4 inches. Once the driver ID has been read it is displayed in ZTIP's main graphical display and is uploaded to the customer-specific database. Power up the ZDR by plugging in the USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable from the ZDR into the USB port on the computer workstation. A 'READY' light on the ZDR is used to indicate the current state of the ZDR. A steady RED light on indicates the ZTIP application is not in communication with the ZDR, when the ZTIP application is running and communication is established the light will change to GREEN. Important: A Zonar Driver ID card may be read at any time the 'READY' light is GREEN unless the driver just read their Zonar Driver ID card which in this case there is a minimum of a 5 minute database delay time before another read may be performed and uploaded to the database, when a Zonar Driver ID card is read the light will change to RED, until the post-scan delay time has elapsed. In order for the driver clock in / clock out times to be sent to Zonar-Web, a connection to the internet must be established.
